In recent years, Hyperdub has elucidated itself as one of the most respected labels from the electronic music realm. Founded by Steve Goodman (more commonly known as Kode 9), and now run with the help of label manager Marcus Scott, these gentleman have helped to push some of the most exciting and forward thinking artists to emerge from the diversified scene including that of The Bug, Scratcha DVA, Cooly G, Laurel Halo, Ossie and not forgetting that enigmatic and oh so illusive Burial.
Last month, Hidden Depths (a new collaboration between Tiger Beer, Black Atlantic and FACT magazine - designed to showcase some of the UK’s most unique labels) showcased some of Ninja Tunes most esteemed talent, and this month it’s the turn of Hyperdub to provide some of the label’s most accredited live and DJ acts including Kode 9 himself, Laurel Halo , Cooly G, Scratcha DVA , Actress & the masters of Juke; Spinn & Rashad for a gig at Koko in London.
In the lead up to this event, Hidden Depths head to the studios of some of the labels key artists to find out the inside info on the inner workings of the label, the label boss and THAT producer. Check out the interview below.
